Nathan and Ellie Fike // Tokyo, Japan

Nathan and Ellie have been traveling in Texas support raising and visiting with family. Praise the Lord, Nathan and Ellie have been unified in their marriage through this season of support raising. They’ve been thankful to see the support and care of many who are eager to see the Lord work in Japan. They will be traveling to Louisville this week to pack their home and say goodbye to the saints at Immanuel Baptist before finishing their summer support raising in a different part of Texas. The Fikes are planning to leave for Tbilisi, Georgia for language training in August. 

  • Pray that the Lord would stir up faithful saints and churches to send the Fikes in a manner worthy of God. They are around 38% funded, and tempted to be discouraged with the difficulty of support raising amidst all their hard work.
  • Pray for their remaining time in the States as they say goodbye to family and friends.
  • Pray for the Japanese people, for them to be given new hearts that love the Lord. 

Beloved, it is a faithful thing you do in all your efforts for these brothers, strangers as they are, who testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God. For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth. - 1 John 5-8

Seewee Bay Baptist Church is a partner church in the Charleston Baptist Association and Pillar Network. Seewee Baptist was a church plant / revitalization effort from First Baptist Mount Pleasant in conjunction with another Pillar Network church. 

  • Pray for the Lord to continue to grow the saints in the knowledge and love of Christ Jesus
  • Pray that the saints would be faithful in personal evangelism
  • Pray for the Lord to add to their number those who are being saved and that the body there would grow in maturity
  • Pray that pastor Jonathan would be able to rest in the Lord after a busy summer, that he would labor hard to preach the word weekly, and that the Lord would feed his own soul as he labors to serve the church.  

“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” Eph 4:15–16.

Personal Evangelism

The Lord has sovereignly put us in the spaces and places that we reside. We've received divine apointments to live by our neighbors, work alongside coworkers, and recreate with friends. Many of those around us do not know Jesus as their Lord. They haven't tasted Living Water that satisfies their parched souls, and so they search for meaning and satisfaction to fix their brokenness in a variety of avenues. 

  • Pray that the Lord would satisfy those around us with the living water that Jesus provides!
  • Pray that the Lord would give us confidence in the gospel message to boldly proclaim Jesus to our neighbors, coworkers, and friends.
  • Pray that the Lord would equip us to daily be prepared, aware, and ready to share.
  • Pray for the individuals that we are sowing seeds of the gospel among.
